At one point or another in our lives, we are all required to make decisions with limited information associated with it. Capacity planning is one of those cases where we are required to make decisions, and don’t necessarily have all the information.

As such, we are responsible to make sure that our business growth is well supported and we are not in a situation where we need to hold off due to lack of capacity, which is measured in number of requests per minute we serve.

Fail Safe mechanisms — So, we did our best guesstimation of capacity needs, and we are well prepared with some extra capacity to face the unknown.

As we want to be very efficient with our cost model, we are not keeping endless extra resources and we are not planning to be able to support unlimited demand.
