But with this increased choice comes an increased level of confusion, because it’s often difficult to do an apples-to-apples comparison of the various services.

Ease of use is a compelling argument for product-focused startups where infra-structure per se is not the differentiating factor, and it makes sense to use Heroku over AWS in order to move faster.
