A NAT Gateway is, quoting from the docs: A NAT gateway is a Network Address Translation (NAT) service.

The NAT gateway replaces the source IPv4 address of the instances with the private IP address of the NAT gateway.

This feature enables the capture of IP traffic going to and from network interfaces in a VPC.
