Supercharge Service Mesh with eBPF and CiliumCategory: Kubernetes, encryption, artificial-intelligence
Service mesh and eBPF are both exciting technologies in the cloud native landscape. As someone who has worked on service mesh since 2017, I am excited about how these two technologies can interact and complement each other to provide the best of both worlds to our users.
We are excited about how eBPF intersects with service mesh and provides additional security and observability to our users that service mesh cannot provide today. Through Gloo Mesh, we can automatically discover eBPF plugins such as Cilium and enable users to leverage them to complement Istio service mesh, providing richer security and observability.
