Explosive data growth, niche storage technologies and a plethora of cloud services have created a perfect storm of chaos in enterprise IT. A 2021 NewVantage Partners survey of chief data/analytics officers found that only 24% of respondents reported having a data-driven organization and less than 50% say that they have achieved data-driven innovation.
But storage innovation has not solved the problem and in some cases has made it worse because of all the silos.
