Back in the earlier days of DevOps we had #monitoringsucks and there was a lot of work to improve the state of the art there. Eventually it turned into #monitoringlove. Then we were told we should do observability instead. Traces and prometheus are the magic combo right?!? Now when I talk to people their monitoring stance seems actually a bit worse than it was 5 years ago.
