Talk #1
"Site Reliability Engineering Thinking for Everyone"
Developers are not expected to manage and handle all reliability and performance-related outages and issues all day. We could, however, be building our features and services with these concerns in mind. This talk will provide a practical guideline for any developer to ship maintainable code.

At Ada, Stella Kim focuses on increasing the resilience of her team as well as the features they build. Previously, she improved the performance and maintenance of multiple services at Shopify.

Talk #2
"Continuous Compromise: How Attackers are Targeting the CI/CD Pipeline"
As DevOps continues to transform organizations and how software is developed, it’s no surprise attackers (and pentesters!) are increasingly targeting the technologies that enable it. This talk will highlight a number of real-life examples of how vulnerabilities across the CI/CD stack are successfully targeted and exploited. In which, this has lead to the compromise of sensitive information, the co-opting of the build, deployment and orchestration infrastructure and ultimately the compromise of the organization itself. But all is not lost, this talk will conclude with a number of recommendations for teams to raise their security bar without slowing development velocity.

Bio:
Jamie Baxter is an independent security consultant specializing in security assessments, ranging from web, mobile, cloud and infrastructure penetration tests to red teaming exercises. Prior to independent consulting, Jamie was the Director of Cyber Security Assessments at RBC, a Senior Penetration Tester for the Department of National Defense, and a developer for over 10 years. When not on an engagement, he can be found competing in and building CTFs.
