Seth graduated from CMU in 2012 and went out into the world of software engineering. With a minor in acting, he quickly realized his zeal for the stage and began giving talks, speaking at conferences, and doing a lot of open source work. Flash forward ~8 years and he's in charge of all strategic initiatives for Developer Relations at Google. What does that even mean? Come to this talk to learn about his career path in tech and the importance of the developer advocate role to organizations.

Seth Vargo is an engineer at Google Cloud. Previously he worked at HashiCorp, Chef Software, CustomInk, and some Pittsburgh-based startups. He is the author of Learning Chef and is passionate about reducing inequality in technology. When he is not writing, working on open source, teaching, or speaking at conferences, Seth advises non-profits.
