At the January 26 Meetup we'll host guest speakers Andre Kaminski and Jonathan Pereira, with prizes from Progress for Meetup members in attendance! It's an interactive event with lots of opportunities for Q&A with our presenters. Here’s the evening’s line-up:

WorkSafeBC’s DevOps Journey:
Andre Kaminski - Director, DevOps at WorkSafeBC

In May 2017, WorkSafeBC initiated a transformation with its first DevOps team. Today there are 10 teams working on direct business value delivery, with another 6 teams supporting them. In his presentation, Andre will provide update on where WSBC is with its DevOps implementation and its challenges.

Andre Kaminski is a technology leader with a passion for creating high performing teams for rapid delivery of business solutions. Currently, as a Director at WorkSafeBC, Andre is responsible for leading Agile DevOps functional teams to deliver business value. An entrepreneur with proven track record of successful software projects and products, Andre has worked in engineering, product development and agile project delivery, and held consulting advisory roles across industries in both the public and private sectors over a 30-year career.

Automating Compliance:
Jonathan Pereira – DevRel at Progress Chef

Security and Privacy are becoming critical across industries. Compliance has moved from being just an after-thought to right into the spotlight. Not taking compliance seriously comes with an attached cost of audits and quality assurance, not to forget the intangible impact on the brand.

In this session, we will walk through the importance of compliance and the benefits it brings along - both to the teams and the organization as a whole. Moreover, we’ll play around with tools that can make compliance simple and fun.

Jonathan Pereira is part of the DevRel team at Progress Chef. He is an Open Source enthusiast and loves discussing technologies and their implications. Jonathan is passionate about developing technology and start-up communities.
